A Checklist for the Nottingham Trent Student
Congratulations, you have just secured your place and you are now officially a Nottingham Trent Student! Of course your mind will be buzzing with excitement, but we suggest that you take a few minutes and read through our checklist to ensure you have all the necessary items to kick off your new student life.
Practical advice for the Nottingham Trent Student
As a Nottingham Trent Student you will have received letters in relation to your offer, finances and from UCAS. It is vital that you bring this paperwork with you. It is also recommended that you bring some form of identification, just in case any problems should occur with finance or your student accommodation. The key is to be prepared.
Students residing in halls will have basic insurance provided, so if your items are damaged or even stolen, the cover gives you protection. If you are privately renting, you will need to organise your own insurance.
If you are staying in halls you will need bedding, basic kitchen utensils, cutlery, pans…a corkscrew? If you are staying in a privately rented property, check out what is provided before you splurge on any household items.
Nottingham Trent University does provide new students with a course induction book, this outlines any reading material and equipment you will need. Whilst many of these purchases can be made in Nottingham itself, to avoid inconveniences, we suggest sorting this out beforehand.
Money is a big topic at university. A Nottingham Trent Student is likely to have secured a loan. This will only be processed once you enrol and can take a few days to clear. Therefore you need to ensure you have some money to tide you over in that period, about £200 should cover all your immediate needs.
